Bases

I have been wanting to come up with names for my bases for a while, but I never was quite sure how I wanted to go about that. I thought about some of the women I admire.  This has led me to naming each base after my favorite female authors and poets.  Their strength, spirit, and creativity have inspired me. 

All the bases that I use are ethically sourced from a local mill and South America. Sustainability and ethical treatment of our fiber friends is very important to me. 

It is also why I am a member of the Hudson Valley Textile Project , which focuses on sustainability and connects farmers, makers, dyers, etc. I think it is important to have a connection with where we are sourcing fibers from and the steps that occur before we get to squish the end product of lovely hand dyed yarn.
